Celebrating Bangalore

 Yesterday, there was jugalbandi organised and maestros were Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma and Ustaad Zakir Hussain.  The Bangalore traffic blues continued and it took  good 2 hours to reach the venue but it was worth it. Panditji started with aalap and raag jhinjhoti in jhhaptaal. It was amazing perfromance. Slowly the tempo and the mood started building up and gathering was appreciative of each great sroke. Initial recitals by both the maestos set the mood for the jugalbandi and Ustaad ji showed his mastery of tabala.  Ustaad Zakir Hussain creates magic with his fingers on tabala. The jugalbndi was based on the pahari dhun and well received and appaluded by the gathering with an standing ovation. This was definitely a great evening to remember !! Later I headed for my friend ‘K’ house for dinner.
